Lessons From My Son’s Basketball Game

While I posted the below a couple weeks ago after my son's basketball game, the sentiment remains true!

"My son had this first middle school basketball game 🏀 of the season this week. And to be honest I came out with a few lessons that I need a refresher on. As an owner, you sometimes experience the roller coaster 🎢 that is "owning your own thing."

I reminded of some key take-aways yesterday:

  • Persistency, hard work and PASSION ❤️‍🔥 really can take you far in life

  • Have fun 🤩, laugh 🤣 at yourself and learn from your mistakes

  • Being supported by a community 🏡 is HUGE—your team, friends, parents, other players etc.

  • Having a supportive leader makes all the difference to help you be the best you can be

I really see how these applied to our organization - Stay motivated (things will go UP and DOWN), always be learning and growing 🌳(and don’t be SO SERIOUS all the time), surround yourself with wonderful people (team, professional coaches, referral partners, advisors, etc) and learn from others that have been there.

Did I mention they won their game yesterday?"

Best, Erin
