Overall Wellness: Tips and Tricks
2023 is here! With that comes new opportunities, hope, reflection, and planning for the coming year. Often it causes people to stop and think about what they want to accomplish or be focused on for the year. It could be cleaning out their closets, setting intentions for the year, or goals they want to accomplish in their professional lives. Below are a few things to keep in mind as we start 2023:
Work/Life Harmony: How will you balance the demands of your professional life and your personal life? What are you going to prioritize? How are you going to set boundaries that are healthy and fulfilling?
Physical Health: Will you eat a healthy diet, go on a daily walk, drink more water, complete an intense workout at the gym, or get into a better sleep routine? Whatever it is—pick one or two things you can impact and get those down first!
Mental Health: Spend time with friends and family, seek help when you need to, recognize when you need breaks, and learn to listen to your personal needs.
As HR Professionals, we can support these things by encouraging leaders of organizations to lead by example, and talk to employees about taking advantage of PTO/vacation benefits, EAP (Employee Assistance Programs), etc. If we all start building a culture of these things personally and professionally, it will begin to make a difference.
