2022: New year, new…I feel stuck.

Let’s be honest---it’s been a long two years.  Personally, I’m at the point where I am tired of even talking about it.  The world has been through more than we ever thought possible.  As someone that owns an HR consulting firm, we have tried to help companies as much as possible---from compliance to helping support their staff.

But, the truth of the matter is I’m feeling STUCK and I can’t quite put my finger on WHY.

I’ll be honest even though I’ve been extremely lucky in regards to my health, I’ve still been affected.  From my perspective, it has been my mental health more than anything.  All I know is, if I keep doing the same thing, I won’t get a different result.

So, what am I doing differently? I am:

  • Meeting up more with friends and family and talking about what I’m feeling when needed.

  • Exercising more. It’s been a helpful way to work through my stress, anxiety and the emotions I’m feeling.

  • Embracing my emotions. Not letting them consume me, but settling into the uncomfortable feeling.

Last, but not least, I am working on optimism and gratitude.  I’m very much a “realist” and depending on the day that can be seen as negative, but I am learning to find the joy in things as that drastically improves my mood.  I’m focusing on what I HAVE and not on what I don’t.  And the truth is…I have SO MUCH to be thankful for.

For any of you feeling this way, you are not alone.  Find your own ways to help yourself.  We have all been impacted and may need to find some new approaches to help us.

I know I am trying to do things DIFFERENT in 2022 because I want to be #BetterTodayThanYesterday.
